Virginia Douglas, 85, of Avon Park, FL passed away on Friday afternoon, December 9, 2022 at her home. Born in Lawton, MI to George and Sophie (Lauterer) Pratt, she lived in Chicago from 4 until 14 moving back to Michigan to live with brother, Bob and wife Donna throughout her high school years. She lived in Paw Paw until retiring and moving to Lakeland, FL and then Avon Park. Virginia fulfilled her life dream of being a nurse at age 40 by obtaining her LPN and RN, after raising her family. Her long career in nursing was her passion and the last several years she was a case manager with VanBuren Mental Health. Virginia enjoyed being close with her family and found it important. She had been a member of the Red Hat Society and was known to collect stones from the places she visited. Virginia is survived by her husband, Billy Douglas; 4 daughters, Brenda Blanton, Karen Sampsell, Paula (John) Akers and Lisa Sampsell (Sean); 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family.
