Vernelle Carpenter Cravey age 93

She was born On February 18, 1927 in Koenton Alabama to Walter “Dock” and Ada Catherine Anderson Carpenter. She was the 5th of 7 children.  Vernelle moved to Mobile, Alabama in 1943, met and married her husband James M. “Jim” Cravey in 1946. They had 3 children, James M. “Jimmy” Cravey of Waynesville NC, Linda D. Newsome of Homosassa Florida ,Patricia S. McConahay of Peachtree City Ga.
She had Ten Grand Children and 17 Great grand children . She was a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church, and a member of the Eastern Star.
She moved to Avon Park in 1964. She has been a member at First Baptist Church since 1964 where she worked with the Youth choir, the youth training union and Sunday School. She was a Girl Scout leader Troop 305. A gray lady in the Elementary school of Avon Park.
She was employed with JC Penny’s of Avon Park and Hilltop Sales and Service for a number of years.
The 10 grandchildren ,Michele Boles of Brandon Florida,Glenn Bass of Clarksville Tennessee,Jayson Bass of Sebring Florida,Christopher Green of Lake Placid Florida, Charles Green of Georgia,Caren Bodine of Lakeland Florida,Tiffany Tacto of Commerce Georgia,Christina Davis of Peachtree Georgia,Tammy Lovett of Tennessee,Sean Boustead of North Carolina
