Gwendolyn Kay Gosnell, 78, of Avon Park, died Friday morning, April 21, 2023, at her home. Gwen was born in Illinois to Charley and Opal (Pryor) Henson and lived most of her life (60+ years) in Paris, IL. She moved to Avon Park in June 2022 with her daughter, Kelli. In her younger days, Gwen played organ and dabbled in oil painting. She sold wigs, jewelry and clothing out of her basement for several years. She later moved her boutique to a consignment shop. She loved shopping for clothes and was best known for her fun sense of fashion. Shopping for that perfect outfit was her passion! Gwen had a zest for life, her motto was “Be happy!” She loved socializing at the local bars, meeting up with friends and enjoying a cold beer! She could walk into a room of strangers and go home knowing them all. She leaves her family and many friends with wonderful memories. So to all that loved her, “Raise your glass and be happy!” She was preceded in death by husband of 35 years, Oda F. Gosnell and son, Kyle Caskey (Oct. 23, 1963 – Aug. 18, 2017). She is survived by daughter, Kelli Caskey Coleman (Oct. 23, 1963), grandson, Desmon Blake Coleman, and many friends from Paris, IL. A celebration of life at the Paris VFW Post 3601, Paris, IL on May 27, 2023 from 4 pm to 10 pm. Please come to share your memories.
