Dennis Barron Obituary

Denny was born on March 7, 1951 in Flint, Michigan to LaFay and Joanne (Oldham) Barron.  The only son in the family, he was a hero to his four sisters.  In high school, he ran track and played football.  It was during that time that he met Lynn Ingram, the love of his life.  He graduated Hamady High School in 1970 and married Lynn on June 20, 1970.  He proudly served his country in the Army and was stationed in Germany.  It was there that Denny and Lynn welcomed their first son Christopher.  After completing his military enlistment, Denny and Lynn moved back to Flint where son Michael was born.  Settling in Northern Michigan, the family was completed when daughter Jessica was born.

Denny graduated from North Central Michigan College and became a Registered Respiratory Therapist in 1985, when the family moved from Petoskey, Michigan to Columbus, Ohio.  Denny and Lynn lived between Michigan and Ohio for many years until retiring full time to Florida in 2020.

Denny first and foremost loved Jesus Christ.  He devoted most of his adult life to pastoring, which he has done in multiple capacities over the last 40 years.  He, along with wife Lynn, started Apostolic Faith Lighthouse in Columbus, Ohio in 1999, where they changed many lives through the 15 years they pastored there.  For the past several years, he has served as the associate pastor of Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Lake Placid, Florida.

Over the years, Denny loved to fish, golf, motorcycle, and travel.  He was fortunate to have been able to make several trips through the years, including Hawaii and Alaska.  Other than spreading the love of God, what Denny loved the most was to spend time with Lynn, his wife of 53 years, and his children and grandchildren.

Denny will always be remembered for his fantastic sense of humor, his willingness to help anyone in need and his always sound advice. He never met a stranger and will be remembered as a comfort to all.

Denny is survived by his loving wife Lynn, sons Chris (Tasha) Barron of Grove City, Ohio, Michael Barron of Northern Virginia, and daughter Jessica (Keith) Bowers of Franklin North Carolina, grandchildren Aubrey Huyck, Jason Barron, Olivia Kienzel, Hannah Barron, Ryan Bowers, and Lainey Bowers, great grandchildren Emmett Huyck, Kennedy Huyck, Kitch Barron and two sweet unborn granddaughters to continue his legacy,  sisters Judi (Dave) Watson of Flint, Michigan, Pamela Gasperosky of Flint, Michigan, mother in law Joyce Sampson of Sebring, Florida, and numerous sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as sisters Janet and Marcia.

A memorial service will be held at Abundant Life Tabernacle, 35 Derrer Rd, Columbus Ohio on Saturday, October 21st at 3pm.
