Brian Larimer Obituary

Brian Larimer, 79, was a resident of Avon Park since 2023. (Prior residence was in a Fort Myers community that was destroyed by Hurricane Ian;in 2022) Brian & his wife Micki moved to Florida from Michigan in 2018.  Brian passed away peacefully and without pain on Tuesday July 24, 2024  He was at home with his wife & friends under care from Compassionate Care Home Hospice. 

Brian was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 4, 1944. His mother was Betty Anthony; Brian is survived by Micki, his wife & best friend for 38 years. Brian's children include Wesley Benjamin Larimer, & Crannel Dion Jerald; Grandchildren Crannel Jerald, Mikayla Jerald, Jalen Jerald, Tamara Smith, and Great Grands Mia, Max – and Mikayla's baby (due now within weeks)

Brian's Aunt Bev (last of his mom's 4 siblings) lives in Toledo with his cousins Bonnie & Brenda. Brian's brother Raymond lives in Oklahoma with his wife Sonja, son Ryan & young grandson Lennox.  Brian's cousin Irma Jean lives near Atlanta with husband Jerry.

Brian served in the US Navy until discharged in1966, In 1962, he served in the Naval Blockade around Cuba. This event was decisive to President Kennedy's demand that Soviets remove nuclear missiles.

Following the military, Brian set off on a varied career track that included  Owner/ Manager of a Supper Club outside Chicago, Booking Agent for Country Music Artists in Nashville, Owner / Manager of a Night Club in Nashville; Maintenance Superintendent for Golf Courses in Detroit, Three Rivers,& Westland Michigan; In 2011, Brian & Micki established a Senior Citizens Group Travel Company.in Novi, Michigan. Brian researched trips to arrange unique, interesting travel destinations

Brian had creative energy and collaborative ability . This enabled him to team up with contractors on remodeling our home.  After the house remodel was complete, Brian  aimed his resourcefulness outside. He constructed a unique landscape that beautifully complimented the house. .. His passions included listening to jazz, blues & county music. His delight was to laugh & kibitz with family & friends.
