Obituary

Bobby Arthur Shough, age 93 of Avon Park, Florida, formally of Pittsford Michigan, passed away at his home on June 17. He was born July 28, 1929 in Morenci, MI to Fred and Hazel (Hall) Shough. He married Patricia Sword in 1992, she proceeded him in death. Bobby was raised in Morenci, attending High School there, where he played football. Upon graduation, Bobby enlisted in the United States Airforce, and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. He achieved the rank of Staff Sargent. Bobby went to Michigan State University for several semesters, concentrating in agriculture. Bobby work all of his life at various factories and sometimes working two jobs, including the American Chain and Cable, the ACME Tomato Factory where he was a Forman. His significant accomplishment at the tomato factory was when he built their conveyor system. He was an expert welder and worked as a millwright, retiring from Delphi in 2003 at the age of 71. Upon retiring from Delphi, Bobby and Pat traveled in their 5 th wheel and they shared their fond memories and pictures of their month-long trip to Alaska. They spent several winters in Arizona and finally settle in Florida where they lived for 17 years. Bobby loved being in the warm weather and was happiest there. Bobby was a member of the Union Church in Avon Park and the Pittsford First Congregational Church. Surviving is one son, Michael (Chris) Shough, of Adrian, two daughters, Joanne, (Mick) Houser of Addison, Stephanie Skukan, of Chicago, two Stepsons, Tim (Valerie) Sword of Hudson, Carl, (Laurie) of Hudson, grandchildren, Scott and Jason Shough, Kristin Cornish and Sophie Skukan and numerous great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia, his stepson, David Sword, brothers Oakley, Howard Shough, sisters, Donna Riester, Helen Osenko, Gladys Cesario, Wanda Goodlock. Cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service will be held at 11;00 July 28, 2023, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci, with the Rev. Terry Bobzien officiating from the Pittsford First Congregational Church. Memorial contributions may be given to the Hospice of Lenawee.
