Bingferd (Bing) Huckle Obituary

Bingferd (Bing) Everett Huckle, 85, passed away on August 31, 2025 in Sebring, Florida.  Born on May 10, 1940 in Hannawa Falls, New York, He lived a life marked by service, dedication and deep love for his family.

Bing proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he embarked on a distinguished career with the New York State Police beginning in June of 1962. Over the course of two decades he served with honor and integrity until his retirement in June of 1982. During his tenure, he held several leadership roles within the Police Benevolent Association (PBA), including secretary, treasurer and vice president positions that reflected both his commitment to his fellow officers and his natural leadership abilities.

After retiring from the force, Bing continued to serve others through his role as director of campus safety at Clarkson University.  For ten years he brought the same sense of responsibility and care to the university community that had defined his earlier career.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bin was a man of many passions. He had a lifelong love for music, played in several bands throughout the years and was intrigued by space and the universe. He had a love of hunting, the outdoors and was a proud member of the Roaring Brook Hunting Club. His enthusiasm for classic cars, especially his MR2 and ham radio reflected both is curiosity and appreciation for craftmanship and communication. But above all else, Bing cherished time spent with his family. He especially delighted in moments shared with his grandchildren. Memories filled with laughter as they sat on his lap watching scary movies and shows together.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly sixty years, Ruth Ann; sons, Alan (Carol) and Adam; grandchildren, Brandon, Joshua (Katie) and Macy; and great grandchildren Avery and Rhys. He was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Mary (Cardinal) Huckle.

Those who knew Bing remember him as intelligent, witty, generous, decent, kind-hearted, loving and always ready with a good joke or warm smile. He was an extraordinary man who earned the respect and admiration of all who crossed his path.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
