Mrs. Vera Mae Smith, 86, of Sebring, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 6, 2020 at her residence.  She was a native of Smithland, KY and moved here over 30 years ago.  Vera and her husband, Billy, owned a farm raising cattle in Kentucky and she worked as his secretary for his telecommunications company.  She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Avon Park.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Billy Everett Smith in 2005.  She is survived by her son, Steven Smith and his wife Cheryl; and grandson, Kevin Ellis Smith.  In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her memory to Compassionate Care Hospice in Sebring, FL.
