Mother Ruther M. McRae of Avon Park, Florida entered eternal peace on July 13, 2023. Born to parents Jim Jackson, Sr. and Catherine Webb-Jackson on August 7, 1937 in North, South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Ezell Jackson and Thomas McNeil, daughter Shirley Jones. Loving siblings, Jim Jackson, Jr., Harvey Jackson and YJ Jackson, several aunts and uncles and brothers-in-law Isaac Casteal and James "Chick" Benjamin.

Her memory will always be cherished by husband Charles McRae, a love story that started in the year 1968 in Avon Park, Florida. On a visit to Highlands Fall, NY for vacation, Mother Ruther went and never returned home to Avon Park, Florida.  She planted roots in Highlands Falls, NY. Charles and Ruther married twenty-eight years later in December of 1996 totaling 55 years of love.

While living in Highlands Falls, NY she performed various jobs but, made a career in 1979 as a Chef for the Historic United States Military Academy West Point where she retired in the year of 1999.

Beloved children: Anna McRae-Lewis, Marc Oaddams(Yvette, Aquila Sanders, Pricilla Sanders, Beatrice (Stephen),, Elaine Harris, Yolanda McRae-Evans (Antreon) and Tayshawn Haywood, a nephew whom she raised as a son.

Loving siblings: Jearlene Casteal, Audrey Benjamin, Glenda Mason (Larry) and Milton Jackson.

Loving In-laws: Ernestine Johnson, Wilma Rozier, Moses McRae, Jr. (Virginia), Doris Harris, Alma Jean Brown, Brenda Wright and Herbert Boone (Maxine).

Daughters-In-Law: Alma Jackson and Yvette Mims-Oaddams

Son-In-law: Antreon Evans.

Loving grandchildren to name a few are Vanesha Jackson, Curtis Jackson, Michaela Lewis, Brielle Evans, Neveah Jackson and many more equaling about 25 to include Great-grandchildren and Great-Great-grandchildren. Many close cousin-like-sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
