Patricia Ann Shough, age 85, of Avon Park, FL, formerly of Pittsford, MI, died April 27, 2023, at her residence. She was born October 8, 1937, a daughter of Clyde and Lena (Mapes) Goodlock. She grew up in Clayton, MI, and was a 1955 graduate of Clayton High School. Later that year, she married Merlin Sword, and he preceded her in death in 1990. Pat drove school bus for Pittsford Area Schools for 27 years, in addition to helping operate the family's dairy business. For over 20 years, she was also employed as the Pittsford Township Clerk. A farmer's wife, Pat took pride in keeping the farmhands fed, and she grew fond of cooking, always providing plenty to eat. She also enjoyed sewing, and took great care of the domestic needs of the household. She was a longtime member of the Pittsford Congregational Church, and a lifetime member of the Hudson Grange. In 1992, Patricia married Bobby Shough in Pittsford. Together, they enjoyed spending many winter seasons in Florida before becoming permanent residents there 17 years ago. There, she loved to try her luck at slot machines in Casinos in recent years. Surviving are her husband of 31 years, Bobby; three sons, Carl (Laurie) Sword of Hudson, Timothy (Valerie) Sword of Hudson, and Steve (Diane) Shadbolt of Owosso, OK; a sister, Dorothy Kishpaugh of Sand Creek; eight grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Ethan, Natalie, Scott, Michael, David and Diana; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her first husband, Merlin, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Sword; and her four brothers, Dorman, Marion, Lawrence, and Lauren Goodlock. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Patricia's life will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Pittsford First Congregational Church with Pastor Terry Bobzien officiating.
