Marjorie Harris, 79, of Avon Park, passed away on Saturday evening, July 20, 2024, at Somers Hospice House, Sebring. A native of Aliquippa, PA where she grew up. She had lived in this area since 2000 having moved here from Germany. Marjorie leaves behind a legacy of love! A strong woman of faith, a wife, a mother, auntie, Oymydarling and passionate animal lover! A wife of a lifetime Army veteran serving with him for 22 plus years. Traveling the world and raising her family in Frankfurt, Germany where she worked as a Dependent Youth Activities Manager. Providing mentorship and leading by example as a role model in support of all the Military Services members and their families. Coaching girls slow-pitch, and fast-pitch softball, dance and cheerleading teams, winning many championships. Her impact as a coach and mentor provided many life lessons and community support to military dependents. The magic felt in every room she walked in left you feeling uplifted and inspired. A golden singing voice, dancer and a true comedian at heart. Blazing the trends in designer clothes and always dripping in diamonds and gold. Traveling the world as far as Japan and indulging in the taste of the world, loving Asian cuisine as her favorite. Kimchee please! Mother of three beautiful daughters instilling in them GOD and Family first. Marjorie will always be remembered for her infectious glamour, smile and ability to make you laugh. You will be missed and remember STINKA! Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Albert Harris; parents James C. and Etta (Goins) Freeman; four brothers, James Jr., Fredrick, John and Lazarus Freeman; four sisters, Theresa Raines, Joanne Samuels, Brabara Crocker and Jeanette Price. Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline (Lorenzo) Billups,, Avon Park, FL. Angel (Robert) Morgan, Tampa, FL, and Albertina (Cedric) Harris-Hodo, Madison, WI; two sisters, Margaretta (Jerome) Nickols, Detroit, MI and Bolivia (Harry) Gilliam, Aliquippa, PA; five grandchildren, Jazz Morgan, Jaylarenza Harris, Kandee Estevez, Shyy Morgan and Jateena Harris; great grandchildren, Namii Coleman and baby Estevez on the way; beloved dogs, Reggie, Rocky and Spaceman. The family wishes to thank all the doctors, specialists and nurses who assisted in her care. Thank you to the Morgan, Coleman, Estevez, Billups and Hodo families, you all were filled with faith, hope and support to her children. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Fountain Funeral Home with interment following at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
