Gregory Allen Elder, 62, of Avon Park, passed away on September 26, 2016 in his home.  A native of Downers Grove, IL he had lived in this area since 2007 coming from Lee County, FL.  He worked in the Lee County School System in the technology support area.  He enjoyed both watching and attending NASCAR races and following his favorite team the St. Louis Cardinals.  Preceded in death by his parents, Vernell Alvey and Dorothy May Anderson Elder.  Survived by his sister, Donna (Wayne) Kelm, Flowery Branch, GA; 3 brothers, Earl (Cheri) Elder, Atlanta, TX, Steven (Laura) Elder, Cape Coral, FL and Gary Elder, Abu Dhabi, UAE; several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  A private memorial service was held after cremation.
