Faride Antonia Sarmiento was born in Barranquilla, Colombia to Cristobal Orozco and Elena Victoria (Buelvas) Orozco.  She migrated to the United States in 1968 as the first in her family then sponsoring several members of the family to follow.  Starting in the food service department at LaGuardia Airport, advancing to a TSA agent, she retired after 41 years, moving to Florida to be closer to family. She will be remembered for her strong sense of familia and work ethic.

Faride Antonia Sarmiento nació en Barranquilla, Colombia, hija de Cristóbal Orozco y Elena Victoria (Buelvas) Orozco. Emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1968 como la primera de su familia y luego patrocinó a varios miembros de la familia. Comenzó en el departamento de servicio de alimentos en el Aeropuerto LaGuardia. Luego ascendió a Agente de Seguridad de TSA. Se jubiló después de 41 años, mudándose a Florida para estar más cerca de su familia. Será recordada por su fuerte sentido de familia y ética laboral.
