Edward Clayton Mitchell, Sr., 84, of Avon Park, died Sunday morning, May 3, 2020 at his home.  Born in Scottsboro, AL he moved to this area as a teenager.  Mr. Mitchell loved sports, fishing, spending time with his family and especially the grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by son, Edward Mitchell, Jr.  He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley; 3 children, PJ (Joe) Baldridge, Larry (Lucinda) Mitchell and Rhonda (Kelly Waldron) Mitchell; sister, Lucielle Gerbige; brother, Tom (Betty) Mitchell; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
