Charles H. Devero was born January 4, 1956 in Milledgeville, GA to the late Melvin Smith and Rosa Patillo. Charles received his education in the Baldwin County School System and upon graduating Charles relocated to Avon Park in 1976 to live with his Uncle the late Ora L Mitchell and his Aunt Martha Mitchell. Seeing a need for Christ in his life Charles became a member of the New Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church. Charles embarked upon a lifelong career with the Florida Dept. of Corrections and retired after 25 years of dedicated services as a Captain.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife Diane and his father Melvin Smith.
