Alfred "Blair" Simmons, Jr., of Avon Park, died Wednesday morning, April 11, 2018 at Somers Hospice House.  A native of Hampton, VA he had lived here for 19 years coming from Ocoee, FL.  He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No 487, having been a crane operator.  He is survived by his wife, Sharon Simmons; five children, Joe B. Simmons, Dale L. Simmons, Katherine A. Porter, Jessica M. Simmons and David Simmons; two step children, Christy Keel and Craig Cloud, II; sister, Janice Terepka; brother, Richard Wayne Simmons; and nine grandchildren. Private family services will be held.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Somers Hospice House/Good Shepherd Hospice.
