Robert Hensel Obituary

Robert Edward Hensel, 86, of Avon Park passed away suddenly, Sunday afternoon, January 27, 2019 following the death of his wife, Jeanne V. Hensel, January 9, 2019.  He was born in West Chicago, IL, moving to Avon Park in 1997 after living in Fremont, WI for 10 years.  He was a retired supervisor for the Wheaton, IL Post Office where he met his wife, Jeanne.  Bob was a member of the West Chicago American Legion Post 300 where he held many offices over the years until he moved.  He was then active with the Fremont American Legion Post 391 and Post 69 in Avon Park, FL.  Bob loved fishing at his home while living in Fremont, WI where he also spent many hours on the golf course.  He also enjoyed golfing with his buddies in Fl and bowled on several bowling leagues over the years.  Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years Jeanne, his parents, Arthur and Edna Hensel, two brothers, Willard Hensel and past Illinois State Representative Donald Hensel.  He is survived by his stepchildren, Sharon Marcum, Susan Pinkos and Bruce Hendrickson; brother Wayne Hensel; sister, Marion Talley; two grandsons, Chad and Casey Martyn; great grandson, Chase; many nieces, nephews and cousins.  

Bob was a devoted husband, son, and an awesome stepdad, grandpa, uncle and cousin.  He was loved and will be missed by all.
