Marlo J Hassler

Marlo J. Hassler born 29 June 1925 to Earl and Lillian Phillips in Germantown, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, 21 May, 2017 in Wauchula, FL having lived in Florida since 1983.  She attended Germantown Elementary School and graduated from Germantown High in Class of 1943.

Marlo worked for US Government for 30 years retiring from Defense Electronic Supply Center in Dayton, Ohio.

In her teen years she loved to roller skate at the rink in Germantown.  There she met her first husband whom she married in 1944.  They were parents of 3 children who all preceded her along with her husband.

Later in 1958 she met her husband Walter Hassle who also preceded her in death.  They were active in working with teenagers in church and their Masonic organizations.

After retirement they moved to Avon Park, FL.  She was a member of Easter star for 61 years serving as Past Matron in Germantown Chapter No. 431, Leigh Chapter No 85 in Avon Park and then in Sebring Chapter No 126.  She served on several District Committees including Past Grand Representative of Vermont in Florida.  She served as Grand Deputy District 25 in Order of Rainbow for Girls.

She is survived by daughters, Machelle (Mike) Mull, Plano, TX and Melodyne (David) Shaffer, Germantown, OH; 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held in at Fountain Funeral Home, Tuesday, 23 May, 2017 from 5 -7 pm. and at Dalton Funeral Home, Germantown, OH. Graveside services will be held at Arlington Cemetery, Brookville, OH
